UnshadowTerms of use
These terms apply to the Unshadow app for iOS and Android ("the app"), published by Lapaas, India ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Your use is also subject to the terms of the App Store or Google Play you downloaded it from.
1. Who can use Unshadow
You must be at least 18 years old. The app is for personal, non-commercial use.
2. What Unshadow is, and isn't
Unshadow offers self-reflection, mindset and habit practices inspired by neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and law-of-attraction ideas, with game-style progress features to help you stay consistent. It is for general wellbeing and education.
- It is not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and it isn't a substitute for therapy, diagnosis or treatment by a qualified professional.
- No guaranteed results. Outcomes depend on many things outside the app. We don't promise wealth, health, relationships or any specific change.
- If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, stop using the app and contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
- Some practices involve breathing, relaxation or reflecting on difficult memories. Go at your own pace, skip anything that doesn't feel right, and don't do breathing or relaxation exercises while driving or in any situation that needs your full attention.
3. Your content
What you write and the photos you add belong to you. They're stored on your device, not with us (see the privacy policy). You're responsible for keeping your device and any backup files you export safe. We can't recover data that is deleted or lost from your device.
4. Ads and rewards
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Optional rewarded ads give in-app bonuses such as a bonus chest or a streak freeze. In-app items, levels and rewards have no monetary value and can't be sold or exchanged.
5. Acceptable use
Don't copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app or its content except as the law allows; don't interfere with ads (for example by generating fake clicks or impressions); and don't use the app in a way that breaks the law.
6. Intellectual property
The app, its characters (including the heroes, Shadows and Lumis), artwork, 3D models, narration, music, text and the Unshadow name and logo are owned by us or our licensors. We give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store's terms. Open-source and font licences are listed in the app under Settings → Legal.
7. Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop parts of the app at any time. We may update these terms; the effective date above will change, and continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
8. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
10. Apple-specific terms
If you got the app from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; Apple isn't responsible for claims relating to the app; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, without taking away any mandatory consumer protection that applies where you live.
